Cool, so I get what it is, but how do I use gamification in my business?

There are so many ways to use this in your business.  In fact, you have probably already employed some gamification tactics.

  • Employee Engagement:

    • Onboarding: Construct a process using reward points for completing induction tasks, roll it into the T&D program. Add in a few certificates for achieving knowledge levels

    • Training and Development: Interactive training plans with game elements such as points systems, leaderboards, and achievement awards, can improve knowledge retention and skill development.

    • Performance Management: Reviews, targets, issues, oh my. By using the tactics outlined in T&D you can build a more engaging and motivating environment for your team, which makes your job just that little bit easier.

    • Internal Communication: You want to increase employee engagement and knowledge sharing in a time-effective way.  Reward quick replies, additions to knowledge bases, efficient & effective collaboration.

  • Customer Engagement:

    • Loyalty Programs: The oldest trick in the book. They incentivise repeat purchases and customer retention.

    • Customer Onboarding: The same plan as you have built for your team. You are aiming to improve customer satisfaction and reduce churn, so make that the focus.

    • Product Education: Build an interactive factor into your product demos and tutorials.  Focus on enhancing and rewarding customer understanding and engagement.

    • Marketing Campaigns: Think. How can you make learning about your product or service fun, and reward people as they travel through your sales funnel? Gamifying your marketing campaigns can increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate leads. Even if you are an actuary 😊.

  • Sales and Marketing:

    • Sales Contests: Use sales contests to engage sales teams and as a bonus - drive revenue growth.

    • Lead Generation Campaigns: This is the start of your sales campaigns, so plan an integrated approach, campaigns which incentivise customer interactions and data collection to feed the sales team.

    • Customer Service: Create leaderboards based on results with rewards, balancing speed of resolution with customer satisfaction scores.
